founded in 1925, is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. Often referred to as simply Key Club, it is a student-led organization whose goal is to encourage leadership through serving others. In partnership with our Griffin Kiwanis club, SHS students are making a positive impact as they serve others in our school and community. Our student members perform acts of service in our community such as collecting socks for the needy, collecting can goods, and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects, and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district, and international levels. Contact Mrs. Broski for an application to join. Dues are $25 per year.
is a community based organization. Community service is freely and unselfishly giving of your time, skills, and effort. This means that you receive no reward such as grades, money, etc. You give for the sake of giving. This the heart of the SHS Beta Club. Each member is required to complete FIVE service projects each semester (10) for the school year.
BETA members are selected based on the following criteria:
We are the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. We face the future with warm courage and high hope. For we have the clear consciousness of seeking old and precious values. For we are the builders of homes, homes for America's future, homes where living will be the expression of everything that is good and fair, homes where truth and love and security and faith will be realities, not dreams. We are the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. We face the future with warm courage and high hope.
